GHG Inventory · ISO 14064 Compliance & Verification

WithGHGinventoryservices, build the compliance data foundation for decarbonization

Emission mapping, data collection, third-party verification — turning compliance into competitive edge.

Supply chain requirements, financing thresholds, export carbon tariffs (CBAM) — compliance pressure is coming from every direction, yet most companies still lack a verifiable GHG emissions inventory. Joseph Studio, with 30+ years and 1,000+ enterprises, helps Taiwanese manufacturers, listed companies, and supply-chain suppliers complete ISO 14064 inventories — from Scope 1–3 emission mapping, data collection, and boundary setting to third-party verification filing, all in one engagement, so every number holds up inside and outside.

🔴 GHG inventory projects require sustained engagement; quarterly slots are limited — only a few remain

A GHG Inventory That Drives Real Carbon Action Starts From Three Critical Points

01THE COMPLIANCE LENS

Numbers That Hold Up — Not Just for Show

A GHG inventory isn't a self-filled spreadsheet — ISO 14064 sets strict rules on emission boundaries, data quality, and verification requirements, every detail affecting the credibility of the final outcome. Without a rigorous inventory foundation, even a completed report can be challenged in supply-chain negotiations or financial-institution reviews, requiring supplements or a full redo. Every project starts with emission-boundary setting, ensuring consistent methodology and traceable data sources so the numbers hold up wherever they go.

ISO 14064 Methodology
02THE MARKET LENS

Compliance Pressure Is Becoming a Competitive Gap

CBAM is in effect, Taiwan's disclosure requirements for listed companies are expanding, and brand buyers are requesting supplier carbon data — these are not distant policy debates but real pressures already affecting orders, credit lines, and exports. Completing a verifiable inventory early means converting compliance cost into a market pass before competitors do — from "being asked" to "proactively presenting," gaining the upper hand at the negotiating table.

03THE FUTURE LENS

Inventory Results Are the Data Foundation for Every Carbon Action Next

A GHG inventory is not a one-time task but the starting point of a carbon pathway. Once emission hotspots are identified, energy-efficiency improvements, low-carbon procurement, and carbon-neutrality planning all have a data basis; annual inventory updates also become the core evidence for communicating progress to stakeholders, investors, and regulators. We build a repeatable inventory framework designed for annual continuity — so each cycle not only completes compliance but accumulates a comparable decarbonisation track record.

Annual-Ready Inventory Framework

Hire a typical consultant and you get a numbers report. Work with Joseph and you get an inventory foundation clarified from compliance, market, and future — every carbon number standing firm, every step of the reduction pathway traceable.

Three Things Most Firms Skip — But You Should Demand

Methodology First — Numbers Come After

Many inventory services jump straight to collecting activity data, skipping the most critical step: setting emission boundaries and establishing methodology. We insist on first defining the operational boundary (Scopes 1–3), inclusion and exclusion principles, and then designing the data-collection process — with the right methodology, the numbers have a verification basis and remain year-over-year comparable.

Full-Process Third-Party Verification Guidance

Completing the inventory is only the first step; passing third-party verification is the goal. Familiar with verification-body review logic, we guide companies through data quality controls, uncertainty analysis, and document preparation for the verification statement — significantly reducing the risk of first-submission rejections and making inventory results genuinely usable externally.

Inventory Through Communication, End to End

Most consultants stop at delivering the inventory report, but numbers only work when supply chains, investors, and regulators can read them. Joseph combines 30+ years of corporate-communications design capability to turn inventory results into publishable sustainability reports, supply-chain carbon disclosures, and ESG pages — making compliance outcomes visible and usable.

The Right GHG Inventory Entry Point for Your Stage

Different drivers call for different inventory focus. See which one fits, and we'll confirm the right scope together during consultation.

Scenario A: Supply-Chain Requirement — Need a Deliverable Fast

  • Brand buyer or customer requests carbon data with a tight deadline
  • For: supply-chain manufacturers, exporters, OEM suppliers
  • Recommended: Scope 1–2 rapid inventory + data quality confirmation

Scenario B: Regulatory Compliance — Verification Statement Required

  • FSC ESG disclosure requirements, listed-company GHG verification obligations
  • For: listed companies, financial institutions, state-owned enterprises
  • Recommended: full ISO 14064 inventory + third-party verification filing guidance

Scenario C: Voluntary Carbon Reduction — Planning a Neutral Pathway

  • Company sets net-zero targets and needs inventory data as a base-year benchmark
  • For: companies targeting Science-Based Targets (SBTs), TCFD reporting entities
  • Recommended: Scope 1–3 full inventory + hotspot analysis + reduction pathway guidance

GHG Inventory Common Questions

What's the difference between a GHG inventory and an ESG sustainability report?+
A GHG inventory is the technical work of quantifying a company's carbon emissions — identifying sources, collecting activity data, calculating emissions per ISO 14064, and applying for third-party verification. An ESG sustainability report integrates environment (including carbon), social, and governance into a stakeholder communication document. The two complement each other: the inventory provides the data foundation for the environmental chapter of the ESG report and can also be issued independently for supply-chain or financial-institution use.
What is ISO 14064, and does my company need it?+
ISO 14064 is the international standard for GHG quantification and verification, in three parts: 14064-1 for organisational-level inventories, 14064-2 for emission reduction projects, and 14064-3 for verification. If your company faces supply-chain requests for carbon data, Taiwan FSC carbon disclosure obligations, or voluntary net-zero targets requiring a baseline year, ISO 14064-1 compliance is recommended — it provides a verifiable, comparable foundation.
How long does a GHG inventory take?+
It depends on company scale and data completeness. A Scope 1–2 inventory typically takes 6–8 weeks; a full Scope 1–3 inventory takes 10–16 weeks. If a third-party verification statement is required, allow an additional 4–6 weeks for the verification-body review. We provide a clear timeline at kickoff, with an agreed date and deliverable at every milestone.
How is the GHG inventory fee calculated?+
The fee depends on scope: which emission scopes are covered (1–2 vs. including 3), company scale (number of sites and employees), whether third-party verification guidance is needed, and whether it extends to sustainability report design. We start with a situation consultation to understand compliance needs and goals, then give a clear, honest fee range. Book via the form below.
Can a company with no prior ESG experience go straight to a GHG inventory?+
Absolutely. A GHG inventory can be launched as a standalone project without prior ESG work. We have served many companies starting from zero — beginning with Scope 1 and 2 emission mapping, establishing a workable data-collection process, and helping companies complete an effective first inventory report without a complex ESG framework in place.
What comes after the inventory is complete?+
The inventory is a start, not an end. From there it can extend to: ESG sustainability report design (communicating inventory results externally), carbon-neutrality pathway planning (based on inventory hotspots), supply-chain carbon disclosure material production, and annual inventory updates. The same advisory team familiar with your emissions data carries it forward, ensuring data consistency and communication efficiency.
